What should I wear?
It is good to plan ahead with a color scheme. For instance, pick one color or group of colors that go together and tell everyone to wear shades and tones of that one color, or pick two or three colors to go which compliment each other. Each family can wear one color if you like, or mix the colors within the families. It is always good to wear solid colors. Wearing a bunch of different patterns can take away from seeing your family. Do we need to worry about shoes? Always wear dark shoes. If someone sitting in the front row is wearing a new pair of white tennis shoes, everyone will see those new shoes first and not your family. If you wear tennis shoes have every one wear them. Sometimes if fun just to go barefoot. When you take portraits you always went to focus on the faces not the clothes. What about my Glasses? Glasses are always an issue. If you are wearing glasses there is usually a glare. It is very expensive to remove glass glare. Sometimes, depending on the person’s prescription, you won’t even be able to see their eyes, even with digital work. If you have photo gray lenses, your glasses will be dark even in the inside pictures. So it is always best to ask your optometrist to rent or borrow some frames without lenses or remove your own lenses from your own glasses. It makes a big difference in your portraits. People with glasses will know what I’m talking about.
